New Trackediting Guide [INPUT NEEDED]

As some of you might know, the next few weeks i'll be brewing up a new trackediting guide. But i need some help making it work for everybody. So i have a few questions for you too.

- What are areas that are hard for you in trackediting?
- did you ever use the old guide and what did you not like or didn't find clear?
- Do you have a nice trackmap of a circuit i could just as well use when creating a track as an example? ;)
- Anything else?

Look at this thread for updates on the guide.

my biggest problem is to get a trackmap correctly mapped in gp4builder. it was descibed in earlier versions but i never got it to work as i wanted
cc line editing has become a lot easier but sometimes cc cars react a bit unpredictable. perhaps some hints for a fast cc line would be good.

but tbh the old guide was flawless :)

Hm, to be honest a fast cc-line is something i have found hard to get myself too :) But i'll try. Thanks for the compliment btw ;)

Any idea on a track? I'm as far as i get without actually starting so a trackmap would be more than welcome :)

you can suggest anything you want. All i need is a trackmap (i see gildoorf is already working on singapore, it would be nice to do one that hasn't been done before).
Provide a decent trackmap and i'll do it :)

added some hi-res images, both satellite and track maps - as well as google earth coordinates. see my post above

although, the track i would MOST want for gp4 is bathurst, but i'm not sure if this is an appopriate track for a tutorial.
anyway, here is a super hi-res aerial image. i put it in a rar as it is 12.7MB and wouldn't upload to any image sites i could find (although adding it to a rar file didn't reduce the size at all unfortunately) thanks to f1freak for this btw.

i managed a raceable layout iwth CC-line (using the original guide), and then got stuck with landscaping... so my project was never completed :(

I found land building to be the most difficult thing while making a track... It's not exactly a GP4builder issue, but some tutorial on how to do it with Zmodeler or something like that would be cool.

my own idea :)
btw, it's just for use in the tutorial, i wouldn't count on a done track afterwards.

if there would be a finished track afterwards, we would advise you to write a new tutorial every two months ;)

The point is not to make a fast cc-line, but a realistic one.
I know it sounds pretty stupid but it's the truth.

You have to consider many many things and I often have to run many tests and make changes before the reult is good.

I think I should be the person to take over this part beacuse I have build so many of them and experienced which values to use and which changes give good reult and which not.

I already planned to do one year ago because some people requested it..don't know if it was gildoorf, Paolo oder somebody else. I once started but never get close to finish...so at the moment I have nothing for use.
As I have absolutely no time during the next 2 weeks I can't help and I don't have motivation for this before gildoorf's and Paulo's Barcelona and Sakhir track aren't finished. So I probably will do this at first before anything else..(damn it , Monaco is liying in wait, too ;) )

So I suggest to take the guide from gildoorf'S and paulo's blog (virtualF1) and extend it...maybe I can give some tips later.

Cheers
