Hello, I'm new here. Don't shout at me. Please.

OK, so me and most probably lots of people in the world have had crashing in GP4, mainly a black screen and then a repetitive noise or something of the sort.
Tried lots of things, I've downloaded the nocd patch, Official patch, many types of GPXpatch, and (tried) to install a 2007 track set and successfully installed 2007 cars and drivers using teameditor.

I've had some help from msater, I think you'll find he's a regular in this forum.

So. Is there anything that can be done to fix this/any advice?

it's sorta like it freezes after pressing escape, not the normal menu that most of us see, just a frozen car image. hes using jcaranti's non csm mod 2007.

so its only on exit?

Do you run it by gpxpatch? If so do you get a log from it when it crashes? If not switch it on

It's not only on exit. It (sometimes) crashes less than a lap into the race - and most often it goes black or just freezes on the car image

Update your GPxPatch to version 3.92, put verbosity to high and post that log again. You can get the newest GPxPatch from here: [rapidshare.com].

Got it - Crashed through the middle of the first turn. Game was very slow. I can only get the cars going fast if I don't use gpxpatch, it seems.
