Qualifying

In the gpx forum, i found a topic on Gp4 Qualifying. It said that you change a file in gp4\gpsaves\carsets\gp4.gamer.nl 2004 season set\tweaker/gp4tweak.ini

you change QualRules2003 = 0;

the number zero to one, and you can get Gp4 Single Lap qualifying.

do you think this is possible, using a similar method, for knockout qualifying?

I think that its impossible.

I can only think of a single qualifying session with a total time = Q1 + Q2 + Q3, then after the supposed Q1 time, someone could find a way to send the cars outside top 15 goes to the garage, then the same for Q3 for those outside top ten. Problem is, car-setup, as Q1 and Q2 are hotlaps :P

do only one qualifying lap as in 2003? yes, it's possible... through gp4teaker and/or hexediting gp4.exe

knockout quali is not possible atm

i'm sure it possible to do that, because you can make 21 otther cars stay in their garages while one qualifies (single lap qualifying is in the 2005 Mega patch, just so you know, if you didn't already).

jep i know, but it isn´t possible to link the cars that are allowed to go on the track with the times they did before. in addition it isn´t possible to change the maximum amount of cars on the track during a session (would be necessary)
single lap quali works like this (can be done via gpxpatch too): amount of laps:3 cars on track:2 or 3 (with 3 you don´t need to lenghten the quali time)

if there is enough interest, i will start up a new yopic devoted to making knockout quali on gp4

I think most would like the idea, Madman was well on his way (having introduced the one lap format) and surely it was just a matter of time. Sadly he seems to have left the community.

it wont work. that line is only there because madman coded the 2003 rules in. unless you are excellent at coding, you will most likely not be able to do it in my opinion
