Help with cars.wad

Hey,

I have followed what the FAQ said about getting a good PO with 30 fps. I have copied the lod 4 for each car 4 times and then called them respectively 3,2,1,0. Created the wad, put into GP4 but now when I load a race it C.T.D.

Have I done something wrong?

lod4 is normaly composed with only 1 object named "cockpit_low"

Lod0 MUST be composed at the minimum with 28 objects. If one of them
is missing or if there is only one wrong name, the game will crash.

Lod1, 2 and 3 MUST be composed at the minimu with 24 objects. the same than Lod0
less 4 x z_cockpit_xxx objects.If one of them is missing or if there is only one wrong name, the game will crash.

So I am not very surprised you got a CDTP....

That has just confused me to hell and back!

Hmmmm well ...can't understand how this kind of TIP can be in a FAQ.

This TIP is only valid if the lod4 you want to use has the 28 objects.
you can check it by opening it with GP4Builder

If you don't have 28 object this TIP is non applicable.

To know what are the requested objects for lod0, 1, 2, 3 and 4, just open with GP4 Builder or ZM a car which has proper lower lods (eg: MMG/GP4 conversion...lol, free adverts)

Right ok then, what was he saying the FAQ about deleting the LOD0 - 3?

Hello, I've got a big problem with the frame rate since I have re-installed Vista and the game. My PO increases to 120 % after a few laps. I'm playing with low-res cars and I set the frame rate in the game to 18.

So, I did several things:
-Stopped the driver of my printer (wich may occure problems with my graphic card for the game: Geforce 6100 nforce 405)
-uptaded my graphic card with the last driver.
-reduced my cars.wad

..but nothing has changed. The game is still low...

Someone could help me, please?

Sorry..This is because at the base, I had also a question about cars.wad and lods...Is it possible to reduce lods?
