Been awhile (Screen resolution question)

Just got a new lcd monitor (24in 1900x1220res) Problem is that gp4 won't seem to let me adjust graphics to a level above the lowest resolution. Is there any way to correct this? I was looking forward to dusting off this game and playing on my big screen in higher res. thanks.

you have to edit the f1graphic file manual to set your resolution. You can open that file with notepad :-)

Thanks Bigbrother. Is there a max resolution for gp4, because my native res for the monitor is 1920x1200?

Well, that didn't fix it. Must be the 24in LCD 1920x1200 native res just won't allow me to adjust res in the game. In game it always sets me at 640x480 and all the hi_res cars are white. When I go to options to adjust res, if I go higher the game crashes. Maybe I will have to use my old 17 inch CRT monitor to play Gp4. Well this sucks.:(

Anyone who is playing this game on a larger lcd and has a fix, please let me know. Thanks.

Try this with your f1graphic file with notepad:

1 ; f1graphics.cfg controls all settings (default 0)
1680 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Horizontal Resolution
1050 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Vertical Resolution

Unfortunately no. The gane just starts out as 640x480 and won't allow me to adjust. Thanks anyway:)

I have a 20" Samsung SyncMaster TFT monitor and it works just fine when changing the resolution in the above values in the f1graphic file with notepad.

Although the game still shows 640x480 in the graphics menu, but ingame it has the 1680x1050 resolution.

hmmmm, I wonder why I have white cars then? You know I was going to get that same monitor you have. This one I have has multiple inputs (DVI, VGA, HDMI, etc.) Would you mind showing an ingame screenshot of your gameplay? Just to see what I am missing. Maybe post your grphics.cfg so I can cut and paste it to mine. :)

If you have white cars, you probably don't have set the texture detail in the graphics menu at 'high'.

This is how it looks like in 1680x1050 resolution:

When I set my resolution to 1680 x 1050 the font in the "At The Line" info(Pressing 9) goes weird.

Has anybody else had this problem?
