GP4 + GeForce 8800GTS + Samsung 2232BW 22' Wide

Someone plzzz help....

Last July i bought a new pc.
CORE2DUO 6600 + 2 gb RAM DDR667 + 640gbHD + GeForce 8800GTS and with an old monitor Samsung 17' i used to play GP4 with no problem.

BUT NOW a bought a new monitor, SyncMaster 2232 BW, Widescreem 22' 2MS 3000:1 Dynamic Control and my problems with GP4 started.

With or without GP4 Official Patch installed, doesn't matter, the game keeps crashing sometimes showing the blue screen of death and sometimes only freezing and then de PC restarting.

This problem only occurs with GP4... ONLY...
Crysis, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Command & Conquer 3 works perfectly.....

Can anyone help me with this?

have you tried deleting the f1graphics file then starting gp4?

when you start gp4 do you get any type of picture displayed on the screen?

maybe manaully setting the resolution in the f1graphics file if not tried already. this line edit to your screen resolution

1280 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Horizontal Resolution
1024 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Vertical Resolution

I have a 8800GTX with a 20" TFT monitor, is it possible to play GP4 with a higher resolution than 1280*1024?

It is possible...

I can run GP4 in 1680x1050 (the standard resolution of my new monitor) but just for a few moments....

The game keeps crashing, don't matter the resolution...


The game keeps crashing, but he crashes INSIDE the race... not in the menu.... sorry, i forgot to say that.

but i haven't experienced any problems with gp4 at all

maybe update your drivers, i've got the 8800gt, and i'm using the 169.25 drivers


@turbo lover, i play at 1680x1050, just go into you f1graphic.cfg and change these lines to your desired resolution

1680 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Horizontal Resolution
1050 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Vertical Resolution

It is... a very nice monitor indeed.
My GeForce driver is the latest released... thanks on that...

m8, do you use Vista?

Cause I cant have the highest resolution in GP4 for some reason, the game just change it back to the lowest then
