I am taking a break from Adelaide to make the Aida circuit from scratch. It will be based on the GP2 version with the same length and gradients. I'll get a BETA (tarmac, wall, bank, verge, line and pit-lane textures). I'll also do a quick CC-Line. By the way this track will be completely different from the original.

There's yet a Aida circuit released. Is yours based on it ?

Yep

No. The Aida circuit that has been released is too hard to edit and its not very accurateso I decided to make a new track from scratch and the track from Grand Prix 2 was made by Geoff Crammond and is the most accurate.

Surely one based on google maps but with a reference to the gp2 one would be the most accurate?

Glad to see someone is giving time to this track though.

Ah i see - a shame :(

If you're interested, there are also 2 made for gpl, but then i don't know how realistic they are either.

edit - as yes, from what i remember of the gp2 one and from looking at this:

the gp2 one does look pretty accurate, yes

I just was concerned, cos back in the day we all thought gp2 and gp3 tracks were really accurate and then the gp4 ones were much more accurate yet somewhat different to the previous gp3 ones lol

Here's the BETA. Some parts are playing up a bit, the heights need to be fixed and the CC-Line is crap. I'm finding track editing quite fun and I played with the track editor and made a track with corners from other tracks (Tarzan, Maggots/Becketts etc.)

great, thanks

btw, a few years ago f1racing magazine made an 'ultimate' circuit featuring the best corners in the world put together in a race track. if you are interested in making it, i can scan it for you.

What are the limits? I'm also interested seeing the track layout. :)

I just had a quick look and the track looks ok - smooth, etc. But it is a bit out from the real distance sin't it? About 80-100m?

The length limit is about 7.5km

That would be good as I don't have the magazine. I know about maximum track length.

I can extend the straights.

I didn't think the other one was too bad, it just needed to be fixed around the final turn. The cars disappear briefly. Otherwise it was quite correct (apart from the trackside adverts). I re-watched 1994 Round 2 race recently, and then played it. Not too bad.
