W300 Season 3 || New series being discussed

It's taken me about four hours but I think Ryan has got pretty much all the files now so he'll hopefully post them when he can ;-)

2007 Xmas Grand Prix - Belgium

Hello and welcome to coverage of the xmas grand prix. The weather is again rain after some snow in practice. Lets hope it is a great race.

John Warrington suprised everyone in qualifying, grabbing second place. Ahead of him on pole is American Andrew Fuh, looking for his first win of the season.

And away we go. Warrington has made a fantastic start. He demotes Fuh to second.

Fuh looks on in shock more than anything. Who would have thought at the start of the season, Sony Racing would be leading a race?

Will Wood has also made a good start. Passing Paul Willins.

Fuh regains the lead...

...As cars overtake in the midfield.

Greenhalgh moves into third.

No. Warrington spins from second...

...And goes dead last

Willins moves up a few places

Latvian Janis Eglitis fancies 6th as Kittleson makes a mistake.

5 cars bunched up. Willins at the front of it.

Briere takes Chester.

And Mike Seymour is looking at championship leader Smirren for a possible overtake.

Stoffels passes Fatipalle with ease.

Warrinton's charge back up the field begins with James Barrington

And that is why. Barrington spinning off.

Wilins passes Eglitis

Grant spins off, Pellatt passes

But quickly retakes 16th

Eglitis is all over Wood

And he gets his man

Fatipalle passes Neil, as Ed Greenhalgh makes the fastest lap.

Rayman is now behing Neil

Hampson is cautious of the oncoming Smirren

Seymour makes a fantastic move on Greenhalgh and Greidanus.

There's a Greidanus Porsche in the gravel. Reliability issues strike again as Greidanus retires with suspension failure.

Fatipalle thinks he is on a skating rink. He resumes behind Neil

There's cars flying all over the place, Mews the next one to skid off.

But where will Mews return. What will the pit stops do to the order. As I do the traditional Tom Pellatt advertisment break. (Lasting for at least 12 hours)

Oi, thats a long advertisement break!

Just like qualy, sucky race so far :P

By the way, it's Fapitalle ;-)

I'm against sigpics
seymour FTW!

Good to see Brière moving up, I hope Merway follows and that neither car spins or gets involved in an accident!
looking good, the fastest lap was a nice surprise

I know, I know ;P Nah still a long way to go but hoping to stay there :)
Ah, what a disappointment from John, I hope that you'll be able to get some places back :) At least maybe I'll be able to deliver solid top 10 finish.
I can see why Tom loves this job so much ;)

Xmas Race - Part 2

We resume the action with Hampson in 16th.

Mike Seymour makes a daring move into turn one

Off goes Neil.

He comes back behind his team manager, Tom Pellatt.

Fuh pits from the lead. Also pitting is Seymour and Briere.

Neil's race of woes continue as Hampson passes.

Before Hampson joins the spin list....

...Which Adam Merway quickly joins as well.

And for the second time this season, a car which goes off the track then comes back on again right in front of another car. Here, Merway smashes into the highly unlucky John Warrington.

Warrington is left with just three wheels. Race over for him.

Merway manages to limp back into the pits.

Grant loses 20th...

...And the track.

Grant resumes behind struggling Robert Mews.

Fuh is looking strong in 8th...

...But that should be 9th as Rayman passes.

Ed Greenhalgh is in the lead, but has yet to pit.

I bet Mews just wants this race over and done with.

Smirren pits, along with Keels Racing's Gareth Chester.

It looks like a RaltWest in the snow.

It's Seymour and he resumes in 14th

Pellatt makes a little mistake.

Francisco Fapitalle is one name I won't be misspelling anymore, as he retires with suspension failure.

Even world champions make mistakes.

Rayman is now just ahead of Chester.

Merway goes off, again.

And incomes Kittleson, Wood, Barrington and Pellatt.

Fuh flies off the track.

That has surely ruined his chance of victory.

His team mate also decides to have a play in the snow.

Amazingly, only losing one place.

And the pit stoppers return into action.

Hampson quickly passing Kittleson.

And another great shot of it.

Before Hampson decides to ruin it.

Keeley Grant makes another mistake.

Only this time, the cars smashes into the wall.

With 5 laps to go, Ed Greenhalgh is leading, but has yet to pit.

Same goes with Eglitis and Stoffels, both running strong.

Eglitis pits, as well as Rayman and Mews.

Willins moves into third.

Willins pits, along with race leader Greenhalgh, where will he come out. Also pitting is Stoffels, Neil and Hampson.

And Ed Greenhalgh is still in the lead, what a fantastic pit-stop it must have been. Smirren looks on.

Kittleson is in third, having a very strong race.

Chester loses a place to Tom Pellatt.

Before re-taking it...

...And then losing it again.

Two laps to go and Ed Greenhalgh is still leading. Surely a first win for Greenhalgh and Scuderia Minardi is on the cards.

No! The commentator's curse has struck and he spins off, a spectator watching Smirren takes the lead.

He is in second, but it still isn't over.

Smirren is now on his last lap, can he avoid any mistakes?

Willins spins.

Montyn Stoffels passes Janis Eglitis.

The lone Keels Racing loses his place to Tom Pellatt.

Briere is having a disappointing race.

Wow! Team Greidanus Porsche blows up spectacularly. Hampson must have a similar feeling to China, twice in three races he has been dogged by engine failures on the last lap. This is now three times a Team Greidanus car has had a failure of some sort.

But Smirren, for the third race running, wins the Belgian Grand Prix. Greenhalgh must be kicking himself for that mistake. Ryan Gault's Drivers of the Day go to Montyn Stoffels and Janis Eglitis, niether but a foot wrong and made a solid performance. Kittleson finished strong, netting third.

The points tables will be up soon. And hopefully the next race in Zandvoort will be posted by Tom.

How lucky can a man as Ricardo van Smirren get :O?
I think it was agreed before the race to let him pass ;).
Great result for Minardi however with Dean in third, first podium :D.

Thank you. To be fair, Smirren did not deserve it. There was only one person, maybe two who really did deserve victory, Greenhalgh and possibly Fuh. I remember when I was flicking through the pics, I was going. There is still one twist left.

Championship tables coming within the next couple of hours (internet still deadly slow)

Looks like some of the few pics that did load for me were in the wrong order but other than that great coverage by Ryan cheers for that. Just in our defence however, Will Wood overtook Eglitis not the other way round ;). Not sure if you got the race results and fastest lap times either but hopefully you did...

I just did it in the order you gave them to me.
