I have captured a video with Lee1971's sound.

Is this what you guys are hearing? I am asking this because I am using my own physics file, so I was wondering what you are hearing from Lee1971's soundpatch.

Anyway I love this sound file; great work!

Huh? I don't get it. Are you sure you are quoting a correct thread?

god those physics sound awful, max revs all the time sounds so bad,i always drop the revs to 17500 and increase the flywheel inertia to 0.05,it sounds more realistic..

I have the same problem as ColdBlood. I don't use any mod, so no 19000.cap file.
I'm wondering how to improve it to use the new update.

Yep, that's exactly what I am hearing. I suppose I'm used to it now at max RPM (if that's crap, I'd love to know what good sounds like!), but wouldn't mind being able to tweak it down somehow without messing up all the physics

You could lower the engine text file, but imo the inertia needs increasing in the physics as the rev needle doesnt drop low enough between each gear, thats why i dont use the revs that high because it just sounds flat and dull..

I was only replacing the .bnk file to see what the result between having an existing engine.txt would produce against lee's engine.txt files. It cuts down the source of the problem really. And as a result I know there are values that control the volume and pitch which are different to that of lee's which effects the sound.

@lee, just a question if its not too much trouble, what are each of the individual settings for? Is the standard engine.txt used for all folders i.e. cockpit/oncar(tcam?)/chase/lead/tsc. I'd like to play around with it, but not too sure what each value is for and what effects what.

cockpit, oncar, chase and lead folders are for the onboard cams, tsc is for external, they only adjust the actual engine sound, they dont change anything else ie ambient noises and other sound effects..
Sounds have been update to a 1.1 Version look first page for the download link !!!!!!
:( sounds are very brilliant, but the problem of mute car on >18500 rpm is still present using a v8gp4.exe and the 19000.cap file :(

like i said before, its hard to correct, mainly because it doesnt happen on my pc,if it did then it wouldnt be a problem, and also i dont use that exe..
yes mate i understand you
but i don't know where i can work to fix it because.
If i use other sound update with gp4v8.exe and 19000.cap they works
If i use your file with gp4v8.exe without 19000.cap the works but the sound became flat at 17000 rpm.
So i suppose that engine files changes will not fix the problem.
Maybe the problem is in 19000.cap, but i don't understand why other old sound update works correctly

i think mainly that its due to the bitrate at which sample is converted,i convert each specified sample to match the correct bitrate, maybe it has something to do with that i dont know, but it seems only a few people have this problem and it works fine for 99% of the people who've downloaded it.also after ive converted the sound i reinstall my physics that only rev to 17500 because when it revs to 19000 i think it sounds awful and theres no low point,it seems to just rev too high all the time and sounds very flat..19000 revs with gp4 to me isnt the way to go,even though that what they use in reality but gp4 cannot simulate it properly, but we all have our preferences i suppose..also why are you using a patched v8 exe ?,the physics come as a seperate file so theres no need to change the exe..

for the guys thats having the problem, look in the preset on car engine text file and increase sample 4a high fade,it may be too low,so just increase it,doesnt matter how much by..it might solve it..
