2007 Sound Update Version 1.1 by Lee1971 UPDATE 4 July 07 *** RELEASED ***

Sound update 2007 v1.1
======================

Heres a list of the new samples in this release..

Skids now sound more realistic
Gravel traps
Louder and clearer rain sounds
Thunder
Louder pit limiter
New external idle engine sounds
Onboard traction control sounds
Slightly improved ambient,crowd and announcer sounds
New race and pitcrew radio voices
A few other small tweaks

The voices were a problem due to the fact i had to edit them quite a lot to make them sound similar
to what the default engineer says,obviously i couldnt replace all the sample because of this,
most of the new samples i converted from gtr2 and theres still a few default sounds left,which imo
sounds good because in a race the driver listens to more than 1 person on the radio comms..

Installation - just install to your gp4 samples folder and dont forget to back up first

Ingame sound options - i set my car to 80%,other cars to about 65%,road runmble to 20%
and the rest up to max and it seems to works pretty good with these settings..

Which settings in GPxPatch and ingame do I have to activate to have the sounds after installation?

none,just install to the gp4 samples folder and off you go..

I usually have disabled 2d and 3d effects in GPxPatch aswell as ingame...so I was not sure if this might have an influence.

gpx patch has nothing to do with this update so leave it disabled..

I really love it. Will be hard to choose between your 2006 and 2007 update now tho

well id personally go for the 2007,mainly because of the new,extra external sounds i added,like the new crowd,announcer and ambience,just run a couple of cars,on a test day,and turn the ambience up to max and you,ll see what i mean..

It really is a great update. I've tried to use sound updates in the past but I've always gone back to the original because they've never sounded quite right.
