Your "La Caixa" setup looks really good. but I feel the Europcar chicane has a much sharper angle than what you have built. The left turn looks more like a 60 degree angle, whereas you have it at 120. Can't wait to drive this baby!

Muito Obrigado.

60 to 120?????

I wouldn´t make such a big mistake.

Anyway. In my opinion main thing different to real layout must be the track heights... As i can see on TV, there´s almost a flat slope at the beginning of new chicane... I did not reproduce that so accurately at mine.

But this is due to original GP4 track heights, I think.

Who knows? And who cares? :)

Hope people enjoy this new change for Catalunya. I did it for personal usage and fun, just as all other tracks so far.

Ruboy will make a great job as always, and this is what I hope for.

Thanks.

Mate, from what I see on Raikkonen's onboard shot on page 1, the height changes are pretty good! I think only the kerbs need to be rebuilt. Great job so far! :)

@Gildoorf:

You did a great job on the layout...it is really accurate...it matches the blueprint exactly :) So don't worry about that :)

Imo still a lot of work has to be done for the new sections...especially mapping of the grass areas ;-)
Paulo is right...I think we will improve the kerbs, too :)

@all:

Just to say...the track is in good hands...I have a lot of new ideas, also for the original sections. The track will get a heavy facelift (as Hungaroring got) :)

So please be patient...it will be worth the wait.

I have solved the problems with my computer during the last two weeks and today I am reinstalling GP4. Tomorrow I am leaving for a workshop for one week. When I come back I will resume track editing :)

I will make final changes for one of Gildoorf's tracks at first which should take me only 3 or 4 days. After that I will finish Samuele's Shanghai track and just after that it's time for finishing Barcelona.

This means that you have to be patient because it will take some time. Gildoorf and me discussed the option to release an unfinished beta version (at current progress)so that people don't have to wait for so long, but we both agreed that it is better to wait until the track is finished to 100%. No argument against that.

So please do not ask for progress during the next 4 weeks, because there won't be any. I am optimistic to finish Shanghai in the middle of June.

I have recorded the race and also saved good pictures, so I don't need any additional material. If so, I will ask for it :)

Hope you understand and cheers :)

See you next weekend :)

Btw, just thought about it...

I need a high resolution video of an onboard lap.

It should have better quality then youtube videos...they are to low-res.

@PrBlanco and Ruboy: thanks for comments, mate...

it´s a pity though, that this new chicane has proved useless since the very first sketches... In my opinion, spain race should move to Jerez a lot time ago...

Cheers

Yeah, a pity...if I recall correctly the only overtaking before turn 1 was from Trulli against Sutil...that's quite poor.

But did anyone see the GP2 sprint race this morning (Glock has won). This was an absolutely amazing race...pure racing action. The chicane helped a lot for this event...but unfortunately not for F1.

Well said Ruboy. Take the time to turn this into yet another great track update. The wip's are looking very promising!

The main difference with GP2 is that you can slipstream behind a car. It's a shame that in F1 you loose too much grip...

That's why they should ban winglets and lower the front wing

Ban F1, the big constructors today have too much power to make big changes possible for a better F1.

Oh c'mon guys...you just have a look at the title of the threads and ask questions for release without taking one or two minutes to read the latest posts which give all necessary information.
That's just extremely ridiculous to read the same question twice on the same page which even already contains the answer...

That's so annoying and disrespectful towards the authors.
