Are you going to release a med-res version of the pack as well?
I have all the textures for the helmets, but they are all 2048x512
for the main texture and 512x1024 for the top, which is too big for my PC, though the helmets look better: GP4 takes a lot to load with these textures and once loaded goes damn slow!
I tried to use TexResizer to make the helmet textures smaller (respectively
1024x256 an256x512), which definitely made GP4 more fluent both in playing
and loading, but here is what happens with almost all the drivers

I resized all my helmets with TexResizer and
had never problems.
Maybe you did something wrong with TexResizer.
Here is how to do it:

1.) Start TexResizer.
2.) Click on open icon - open the first tex file (driverXX_1.tex)
3.) Click on Save all 4 tgas
4.) Nake a right click on the biggest picture (left side) -
load tga file - load second tga file which begins with 1.
5.) Click on Downsamplen - then Save tex file.

Do the same with second tex file
(for second tex file - load tga file - load second tga file
which begins with 2.

With this the helmes are 1024 x 256 (first tex file)
and 512 x 1024 (second tex file).

(respectively 1024x256 and 256x512)

I think that could be the problem - first size
of the second tex file is x 2 smaller then first size
of the first tex file.
is 2 times smaller than the first.

Because his helmet problem has nothing to
do with the upcoming helmet 2007 set.

Yeah, but the question was in that thread, so why not post it there? ;)

I was afraid that the helmet makers would kill
me if i put it in their helmet topic.

That's a possibility ofcourse, especially since helmet makers are known to be all very evil and cruel people. ;)

Sorry for the mess I created! Everything is ok now! I resized the textures with slimtex and they work correctly!
Thanks for your help!

I'm having a similar problem. I've tried two seperate 2007 Alonzo helmets in the 2006 mod post season set, and get weird distortions with both. These helmets were made by dzband and apfonseca.

First off I could see the helmets were the wrong size in comparison with the other helmets in the 2006 mod, so I changed the sizes with slimtex. Also noted that they were opaque, but the other helmets in that mod apparently have full transparency, so I changed that as well. Then I tried one of the helmets in the place of Alonzo's Renault lid. Very strange looking. I got a distorted version of Coulthard's helmet, with only a portion of the 2007 Mclaren visor showing on the front of it. None of the new helmet texture displayed at all. Tried it with both helmets, got the same result. Perhaps it's trying to show a default helmet texture for some reason (DC in the 2001 McLaren?)

The thought has crossed my mind that maybe they are the wrong shape for using in the 2006 mod, but how would I be able to tell?

Once I restored Alonzo's Renault helmet from the mod the problem went away, but it looks a bit strange to have him in a McLaren with the Renault helmet... :(
