Hi Guys

Its been a long time since ive posted on here, but i still play GP4 alot. Downloaded the 1991 mod today (been away for a bit) and OMG how good is it. Great work to the guys.

Anyway, im currently playing the game on a basic desktop PC:
Intel Pentium 4
1.80GHz
256MB Ram
Radeon 7500 graphics card

Im looking at getting another PC or Laptop, as this one is getting on, and i would like to know what is a good spec PC for playing this game, with all graphics set to high (if possible) as i would like to see the 91 mod in all its glory :)

Any advise would be welcome, not sure what is needed to play this game well, think its something about the CPU? but at present with the 91 mod running, ive got everything on low apart from the car textures which have to be high, and im getting 11fps and its very slow!!!

Looking at spending about £400, so whats possible?

Cheers guys.

G

Get at least another 256 Mb of RAM. Graphics card could be something like Radeon 9250 or if you have some more money get GeForce 7600 GS or GT. They have good price/performance ratio. I was playing GP4 with all settings on high with Athlon XP 2400+ 2 GHz, 512 Mb RAM and Radeon 9200 SE 128 Mb. GP4 requires more processor than graphics card but that Pentium 4 should be fine.

gp4 doesnt require more processor power at all, just because the po can be monitored doesnt make it so,it can be reduced more with a better graphic card, when i installed my new graphics card the po reduced massively and when i installed the new processor it didnt make a difference because of the higher gpu power,id go for a top graphics card...

In terms of GPU, I am also looking to buy a new one and from what I can gather, for between £150 and £200 the main reccomendations I have had and looked into are:

XFX or MSI ATI Radeon X1950
XFX or MSI Nvidia GeForce 7900GT or 7950GT

@G888

Ur new spec's is almost same with ur old spec's in terms of graphics.so there won't be much boost in ur graphics to run GP4 in all high settings.

Processor and RAM both are good but graphics it's really POOR buddy. so my advise consider other one which has minimum of X1600 chipset in that LAPTOP .

why LAPTOP ? go for Desktop PC if LAPTOP not that necessary in ur daily life.

Thanks Sunil, sadly i need a laptop for my work, so a desktop is out of the question.

Glad the RAM and Processor are good, i will upgrade the graphics chip to a good one.

Cheers for the advise guys :)
