Best graphics in gp4?

Hi again...
Now when i got a new computer, I would like to get the best from gp4, so?
Can someone post here a f1graphics.cfg file, that gives the best graphics the game can give?

Nvidia GeForce 7950gt 512mb
2gb DDR2 800mhz ram
Intel E6600 core 2 duo...

Kind of.

You wanna stretch your computer to the max? Do this.

Set the resolution to 1024x768 or 1280x1024. Graphics settings whack up to the max, framerate set to 30 or 60 fps or a multiple of your monitor's refresh rate between these. If you still think the game could look better (without modding it, I might add), in NVIDIA's control panel, set AntiAliasing (AA) to 2x or 4x and Anisotropic Filtering (AF) to 4x, 8x or 16x. Experiment to see what gives a good speed / quality balance.

Finally, if you'd like the best graphics that the game community can possibly give, search this place and the forum and mod so it looks the business.

Hope that helps. I can't believe people have to ask for the f1graphics.cfg just because they're too damn lazy to experiment themselves.

I just hoped that you could tell me something i don't know. Anti-aliasing is 4x, but I still can't get fully smooth borders.. changing it to 16 changes nothing.. O_o
Max anisotropic filtering is 7...
Texture filter quality is 3..
But I think textures could be even better??
And, I would like to know how to get best possible shadows and reflections.

well Dual core 2 duo's are very good better than your current one.but the best ones currently are core 2 quad prosessors....the one that is available is Intel Kentsfield-Core 2 Extreme QX6700 .

well just try this

download it and take ur graphics file backup and overwrite with mine in GrandPrix4 folder.


don't start ur game.
right click on ur desktop and go to nvidia control panel.

set AA(Anti-aliasing) to 8X
set AF To 16x

the above settings can handle easily by ur video card and processor.

Now start ur game and go to the graphics settings and calibrate ur graphics once. after calibrating it's ask's u to use or igrone. click use if it's say below 60. forget about this graphics settings later b'coz it won't save afterwards b'coz i kept in graphics file 1 istead of O. so it takes manually from u.
but for once u have to calibrate to run smooth in game and to reset hardware profiles saved in .cfg b'coz it's my settings with my hardware.

Now start ur game and watch the PO. if it's not reaching 70-80% then it is working well .if not u have to repeat the procedure.sure it will work. and don't forget to change the resolution if it's not 1280X1024 when using my graphics file for first time.

just post here if u have any problem with my file.

SUNIL......I noticed your graphics config has full 32 bit textues disabled (set at 0 ) why is that??

nothing i didn't find any difference. so disabled it.
why? did u find any difference in on and off.

i think my video card can enable it automatically through it's core

This was what I wanted from this thread... thank you so much...

@Vesa-mate, you don't have to send your file anymore, I found what i wanted..

Frankly I found no difference either. In the old way (before CSM) the difference was night and day. I guess the new breed of editors have found a way to make 16 bit graphics look as good as 32bit.

What did happen though, was that your graphics config somehow allowed me to get through calibration of graphics without CTD in both the 2005 and 2006 mod installs I have. The result was amazing in the appearance of the sim. Thank You.....I am puzzled how this happened....but thank you.....

Holy cow!!! What is the secret of this file?

On my low-end pc i can run GP4 better than ever, even in 1280x1024, with hi-res track and 2006 mod.

Before my po was 150-200 in starts depending which track i was running, now its smooth 70-80.

any screenshots of it? i want to see how it looks an a dual core duo

buddy , usually to my knowledge graphics quality will depend on Graphics Card not the processor. so screenshots may not differ between AMD and Intel.

ATI is known to be better,good,awesome,etc at quality when compared to Nvidia. As this small piece of software "d3d-af-tester" derived difference in quality when we turn on AA and AF.Recently 8800 fill rate beat or equal ATI X1950XTX record but i am not satisfied with that result.yet i support ATI in quality. sad thing was ATI is way way costly in INDIA.
