And what does this mean exactly, reinstalling the game or pasting over the original exe from the CD?
Or are there other .exe I can get my hands on?

i have the same problem

i freshly installed GP4

applied the 9.6 official patch

Downloaded the decrypted gp4.exe ( the patched version not the original decrypted one)

and i get that message too, i even tried copying the original one back off the cd and it still gives the same error

can someone upload theirs please?

if you have a fully updated csm (run updater.exe) then when you select an exe that csm doesn't recognize or think is valid, then when it asks you to try again, select no.
then it will ask if you want to download and install the 9.6 patch with decrypted exe.
simply follow instructions and all should be fine

cheers ZAZ got it working but i keep getting an error message when i quit from GPXPatch

also how do i change the camera angle to more like this one? i want to implement the black visor look for more realism and that point of reference is more accurate than the one currently as the default one in the 2006 mod

The visors are done with tweaker, and in the Data/Visors folder in the mod. You can just replace those tgas.
To change camera angle you need to enable tweaker real time editing (in CSM Configurable tab) and then make changes in game (use I,M;U,J;H,L keys). But they won't be saved so note the values, and copy them to the Data\Tweaker\gp4tweak_data\onboardcamera.ini file.
Use the key next to 'L' to show the values on screen.
Opeb the ini in notepad,a nd you should be able to find/replace all the values if they're the same for all 22 cars-

Tony is there a way of permanantly having your 2006 mod in GP4 rather than having to load it every time i want to play it via csm?

thanks

You can disable auto-restore in CSM and then just run GPxPatch to start. But you'll miss out on track specific changes.
You need to restore to make any changes to the mod though.
You can also enable fast wads and wad caching for faster loading.
We'll look at a better permanent solution for the final version

I am using the CSM beta is that an issue?
I checked for updates
but got nothing
(csm.exe 0.2.0.251
csmcore.exe 1.25.0.1002
csmlib 0.0.0.178

all i get is that little message telling me that my exe is not original it does not ask me to try again or to do
download anything...

Download the gp4.exe in the misc/tools section of [www.gp4db.com]
Just replace yours with this one, but keep your old one just in case

or run patchdownloader.exe from the 'zaz gp4 tools\dll\' folder.
this will install all necessary 9.6 files as well, so you don't encounter common problems like white boxes in gp4.

Why does CSM undo all the changes made in GPXPatch? Is it due to that auto restore feature?

I have to say that this program absolutely rocks.

the gpxpatch settings should be altered through the gpxpatch tab in csm itself. that way it'll be mod specific. otherwise it restores, yes.

I am running realgpx's 1994 mod
I there any way to edit performance figures (horspower downforce) and cam views through CSM?
Or do I just ask the guys at realgpx?
