and tell me how to ride for example in Bahrain (defaultly selected track) as there is no such in the in-game options;
in more details:
installed the patch and chosen in CSM BETA an Australian GP (Melbourne) shows as Brazilian (Interlagos) and it really is Interlagos. The same is with Bahrain in CSM set up which is shown as Australian (1st GP in the Championship) and after loading (loading screen has BAHRAIN name in right upper corner) it is of course Melbourne - not Bahrain :(

did something wrong or what?

open rimscolors.ini (located in ...\Grand Prix 4\GPSAVES\Carsets\2006\Data\Tweaker\gp4tweak_data) and at the bottom you'll see something like this:

alonso = #383838
fisichella = #383838
raikkonen = #383838
montoya = #383838
schumacherM = #383838
massa = #383838
schumacherR = #383838
trulli = #383838
webber = #383838
rosberg = #383838
barrichello = #383838
button = #383838
coulthard = #383838
klien = #383838
heidfeld = #383838
villeneuve = #383838
monteiro = #383838
albers = #383838
liuzzi = #383838
speed = #383838
sato = #383838
ide = #383838

where 383838 is the color of the rims in hexadecimal, change that, and voilà :)

I'm against sigpics

Tracks are not included in the Mod. You have to download them all and to install them with TSM as explained several times in this forum.

your .gps file is probably not the original one. replace it with the original.
its in \MenuData\PC\GP2001

Delicious, after some documentation everything is working fine :D Read about half this thread to solve all the little problems i had, but fortunately, lots of people did experience those problems earlier than i did, so solved them all ;)

Great mod, great csm.

Hi,
I like the mod a lot :)
It's great! I have only one annoying problem: The game doesnt save my settings. So each time I run GP4 I have to reinstall my wheel, change the graphic settings, change the realsime, disable the driving aids etc etc.

When I exit GP4 I have the "save changes" option selected. I also did save my setting is GP4 and copied the *.sav file to the mod\data\file folder.

What am I doing wrong? Please help!

It's a great mod.

But I am having trouble getting the 2006 revs on the screen. I have them ticked in GPX Data and it works if I don't use CSM, but will not if I run CSM.

Can anyone assist me?

Try to modify directly the gpxcinfo.ini in GPSAVES\Carsets\The2006Mod_v0.1PublicBeta\Data\GpxPatch

Hello everyone.
After givin` up on gp4 and using F1 challenge for the past year (I know!!)
Tried the 06 mod using CSM and I have to say brilliant........
The handling of the cars are much better than F1 Challenge (I know,I know) and it shows you just how good gp4 can be.
The editors have come a long way in the last 12 months.....the easier the mod the better.
Reminds me of the gp2/gp3 days with Mr Youngs Editor.
Happy Days.

Guys below is the race specif listings for Kizz's Honda and I am trying to work this out to complete.
For example:
Bahrain = Tobacco
Malaysia = Tobacco
Australia = Tobacco
Imola = Non Tobacco
and so on

1. Do I assume that Bahrain is textrack1, and that Imola is textrack4 (as per the real 2006 track order)
2. Under Texture data, do I assume that the textracks that are not included (15,14,13,12,11,10,9,8 etc) reverts to the default (Imola) texture for those races.
3. How does the carshape get picked up, I am assuming by default it will be the Imola shape, but why are just (cartrack2 and cartrack3) defined what about the others. Is the assumption simple enough that (cartrackx) has to equal (textrackx) to ensure you get the correct shape and livery.
4. Under configuration what does the Dir 6 do?

[Vars]
; car shape data
cardefault =Imola
cartrack2 =Sakhir
cartrack3 =Sakhir

; texture data
texdefault =Imola
textrack2 =Sakhir
textrack3 =Sakhir
textrack7 =Sakhir
textrack16 =Sakhir
textrack17 =Sakhir
textrack18 =Sakhir

[Main]
Format =

[Config]
Dir6 =Car\%cardefault%,Car\(cartrack%tracknum%),Car\%trackname%,%cartexres%,%cartexres%,%cartexres%\%texdefault%,%cartexres%\(textrack%tracknum%),%cartexres%\%trackname%

5. Now talking helmets, I want to use the NT liveries for the NT races. Say I want to change Alonso's helmet to NT for the Nurburgring can I do the following. In other words how do I ensure the file accesses the NT folder.

Nurburgring:
[Config]
Dir22 =%helmetres%\Alonso\NT,%helmetres%\Alonso\NT\(Alonso\NT%tracknum%),%helmetres%\Alonso\NT\%trackname%

6. I have made a 2006b in TSM (which features just the Brazil GP) how do I know what cars will be selected for this race. When I click in configuartion for race and select the Brazilain GP will this also pick up the helmet/cars etc? I assume performance files are also governed by which race you choose so for example If i choose Monaco I would get the Monaco performance file etc.

1. Yes :)
2. Yes. But the system is something like: "default:special:track".
So it will always use the default, but if a 'special' exists (cartrackXX or textrackXX) then it uses this, but if a track folder exists it uses this. The track folders are named according to the 2006 track names:
Sakhir
Sepang
Melbourne
Imola
Nurburgring
Barcelona
Monaco
Silverstone
Montreal
Indianapolis
MagnyCours
Hockenheim
Hungaroring
Istanbul
Monza
Shanghai
Suzuka
Interlagos
Any files in 'Honda\Car\Imola' will be used at Imola no matter what.

3. For Honda it has:
cardefault =Imola
cartrack2 =Sakhir
cartrack3 =Sakhir
So it uses Sakhir shape at the first 3 races, and Imola at all others.
If kizz released a Monza shape all you need to do is create a ''Honda/Car/Monza' folder and put the shape files there. To use that shape at Monaco as well you'd add:
cartrack7=Monza
cartrackx and textrackx are unrelated and don't need to match

4. Dir6 means its the 6th team. So it uses the 6th pitbox, the 6th teams perfs etc

5. You don't have to edit the config files at all really. For that NT example, just rename the NT folder to Nurburgring. To use it at other tracks add this tot he Helmets/Default.ini under the [Vars] section:
Alonso15=Nurburgring
Alonso16=Nurburgring
etc. Now at tracks 15 and 16 it will use the Nurburgring helmet. But it also uses the default. So it takes the two files from 'Alonso' and then overwrites one of them with the file in 'ALonso\Nurburgring' So it doesn't' matter that there is just one file in the Nurburgring (or NT) folder.

6. Yes. choose the race in the CSM configurable menu and it will load the cars, helmets, driver changes, menu art... for that track. Perfs will always use track specific ones. So loading Istanbul and playing Sepang will give you Villeneuve's helmet, but Kubica's name.

:)
