Team Radio?

Hi guys,

Has anyone every considered putting a team radio function (as in a panel) on GP4? Somehow it could be incorporated so that a graphic like the one i've made below could come up every time a sound from a soundset.ini file came on.

I'd like to know your thoughs.

Obviously the image above could be improved quite a lot, but it was just a short 5 min job in photoshop.

I wondered about this myself. If Gpx patch can know the lap and time info etc then it should be possible to put the "Team Radio" graphic up when the a relevant sound plays.

hahahaha its 5kb lol
not a bad idea, although why you'd need a graphic when you can hear the radio, erm, hang on a sec, unless you're deaf, which would mean you'd then need an additional graphic displaying what was said on the team radio, just a thought there, and then, once it was up on screen, would it like disappear when the speech stopped, it might even be an information overload, you could be screaming along at 265kph and this graphic pops up TEAM ORDERS and you run off the road because you cant see where you're going and pass me another mushroom maybe ;-)

It's my case :)

BTW it is a good idea, how in theory it would work with GPxPatch? Does it need any special code?

Um Ive already done it mate.

Let me get you a screenie brb

Right, here you go :

Edit :

I read all the posts above and realised you wanted an automatic one, This is very tricky / near impossible, as its GP4 that plays the team radio sounds, unless you use a soundset in gpx patch, for example the ITV 2005 one has pitsounds too, but the problem is sometimes its the commentators talking and it would be silly to have the logo come up when they are talking.

I could easily make the panel appear when you cross the start finnish like the pitboards, but a sound will not always play..

So basically, we need an update to gpx patch, which doesnt look like it'll be coming soon, if ever.

what i do at the moment is just press Control + 7 when the team come on the radio which displays the pannel then press control + 7 again to turn it off. It still looks really neat :) . .

Cool, but wouldn't it be just easier to just use a single letter like for all the other key binds.

The actual graphic looks great btw Will :)

TO enable or disable an individual panel, im sure you have to use " Control + the number of the panel ".

What individual key binds are you talking about Ben ?

For example when you want to see the standings in GPxSat you press "C" and "V" to view the next page.

For panels I usually press I.

I think you cannot add this stupidly to the .ini GPxPatch must recognise yellow_flag as a yellowflag situation ingame. It must be programmed to recognise it

Try remove the space from the dolder name "Sounds 2006" Dont forget to change the references in the ini .

Ben : " For panels I usually press I. "

Using the hotkeys and pressing I don't do the same thing. I cycles through disabling all the panels one at a time. If you use this method and start with 5 panels enabled say, when you press I once you will loose the last pannel and the top 4 will be enabled. When you press it again, only the top 3 will be enabled. So as you can see , using this method you cant have panel one enabled and panel two disabled, with panels 3 and 4 also enabled :) .

You can however by using the propery hotkeys ( Control + PanelNumber) :) .

Just a thought :) .

Wills .
