V8 Coupe's / GT - Aston Martin Finished

I've mentioned this over at gp4carpainting, but I suppose I may as well see if the rest of you are interested

I've started working on some V8 Coupe road cars: a BMW M6, Jaguar XK, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and a Porsche 911.

Basically, I have a few things ready to make it into some kind of mod. Now although there isn't a series based around these, I am hoping to have some kind of series made up that could involve these either in there road going form, or in a GT-guise.

Here's the current progress on the Jaguar XK, it's almost finished, and is currently 7,200 polies, probably about 8,500 when finished, but perhaps lower.

Tell me what you think, I added a GT style wing to see how it would look at the moment, so you can ignore that if you like

As a newbie to these forums I have to say I am impressed with the level of detail that modelers go to.

As to why I chose this thread to make my first post in, seeing V8 Coupe's I was thinking in time I would like to model the Australian V8 Supercar series.

Anyhow, keep up to great work!

Since they took me 3 mins to make I doubt they'd look all that great gui

That should be finished today (here's hopin anyways), cos the back is really the only bit that needs sorting out, then I'll get to work (again) on the M6

Ok, XK exterior done, I just need to make the driver, seats and a few bits inside and it's complete. Polycount: just below 8,000 currently

I don't know yet, I've got three more cars to make first

I've got the new Torque .exe from Walter Rohrl, and now all I need in an onboard lap from a road car of some description in order to fine tune the physics. Basically, the set I made has very little grip, which is fine n all, but I have to take hairpins at 5 mph :P If anyone has a good lap then please, link me, or upload it so that I can crack on with this too

I don't know. You can race with them in Toca Race Driver 3.

Well the vantage is properly finished now

Final polycount (inc damage model / driver etc) 12,906, which is pretty good I think, It's a reasonably complex model, and it's already mapped, just needs a few paintjobs slapping on it, and the lower lods to do too. The only major thing left is my "shared" texture, which will be for lights, brake discs, exhausts etc, and as the name suggests, will be shared between all the carshapes. I dont know how I'm going to do the lights yet, so these have been left out until I know what I'm doing, but the exhausts and brake discs will be done before long

I've started the Ford, but work is a bit slow.
