well what happens is tht when i download a car e.g the mclaren (sepang version) and then try and install it i don't know where to put the files i know you put in the car.wad but how i need some help

No that's enough. No you have to put the shape and textures into the wad with wad-updater. The programme is easy to understand, give it a try and you'll see :)
