How big is your Cars.wad as in megabytes???

alright geezers! basically i think my cars.wad is pretty big, its precisely 406MB!! that i reckon is ridicolously big even though the game runs fine. so i wanted to know if any one else has even bigger stupidly sized cars.wad. lol!

The idea is you delete any tex's that you dont use before you put new ones in i.e the original gp4 ones . Also try using 3asywad to repair the wad as sometimes they become bloated for some wierd reason!

i don't know about the size, 'cause i use CSM and wads are packed and unpacked all the time, but i think one updated wad shouldn't be bigger than 150mb, that exaggerating a bit...

but game works ok
but i will do a smaller wad
in future
so i wait for the rest of 2006 cars

mine is 188mb, all hi-res. i've got some 2006 cars, and some 2005 cars still.

@ Bignav, you might have a whole other cars.wad inside your cars.wad, this can happen sometimes for some reason, so just have a look inside just in case.

and i might be right in saying that the size of the wad won't really affect the performance in terms of fps, but it will affect the loading time, so if you can cut out all the extra files that are not used, it should improve your loading time.


@ Zeppelin101, how is yours only 24.2mb???

thats true actually, my game takes quiete a fair bit of time to load but the thing is i cannot be bothered to sort the wad out, its too much hassle for me man! lol

125MB 2006 Cars.wad missing honda and red bull, completed with 2005 cars.

@Muks: as Wills said, it's an original with some new tires in it :P
