as far as i know the 2006 season was the last licenced one that sony had it for them...the 2007 is free....but dunno if any gamecompany will release a sim or sometin...

I would like a combination between dirts features, rfactors kinda psyhics (race 07 kinda AI), next gen grafix dirt style, next gen smoke need for speed pro street style...and so on...but this is S.F. domain lol

You wouldn't need to though.

If you think about if, GP5 wouldn't REALLY be much different to what GP4 is now with the mods. LOL! GP4 had TV Styling when viewing the race, GP5 would have the same, just the modern look. GP4 had visors. GP5 would have visors, just tweaked, better looking, make it more realistic. The cars would just be the modern stuff. A cool wee thing with GP5 could be when you alter the wing levels, specially at the rear, if the rear wing tilted to the right settings. :) LOL!! The tracks. GP4 to GP5 would mean just the modern circuits. Animation, GP4 to GP5, I reckon more GTR style pitcrew and trackside animation. When you really start wanting to think about it, the only real things that GP5 could really improve from GP4 is the release of individuality for each team. And that would mean single cockpits per team, single tyres per team, seperate steering wheels per team etc etc etc. Anyway, I digress. I think PC gaming has gone on long enough without a good Formula One Simulated game with the same standards as GP4. Lets hope that either Geoff decides to attempt his genre again, or that perhaps SimBin can get it, and turn a great GT Racing Sim into a good F1 Sim too. Thats my two cents.

yes, but a modded gp5 would probably be a lot better than a modded gp4 ;)

Forget it, GP5 isn't coming. If a new PC F1 game would be made, it probably gets done by the makers of GTR/Race WTCC or the rFactor makers. Geoff Crammond wont release some new game..

Geoff Crammond was meant to be remaking his Stunt Car Racer. Has that ever developed, or have I completly missed that somehow?

EA signs Hamilton; F1 license

EA Sports and rising F1 star Lewis Hamilton have signed a £5 million deal that will see the British star front a game next year.

According to The Sun, Hamilton has signed a £5 million deal that will see him “star on Xbox and PlayStations next year”, although no mention has been given of what the game in question will be.

The most likely scenario is that it will be a Formula One game (rather than, say, a beat-’em-up or an RPG): although Sony has held the official license exclusively since the 2003 season, long standing rumours have suggested that the commercial rights holders have been looking to pass the license on to a major third party publisher in order bring the sport to other formats, maximising its exposure.

As such, EA Sports would certainly fit the bill, were this to be the case – the publisher has dominated the sports sim market for years and is no stranger to Formula One games, having published several earlier this decade.

With rookie Hamilton (who missed out on the championship this year by a single point) currently the sport’s hottest property, signing him to front a Formula One game is only logical.

That said, it needn’t necessarily be a licensed F1 effort. In the past, drivers such as three times winner Johnny Herbert and 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve have leant their names to videogame titles.

Er it would be a LOT different; GP4 is pretty badly made for todays computers. The graphics are very much CPU weighted and it obviously wasnt designed to be modded. If GP5 came out with communities involved it would be easier to mod and the engine would have to be re-written to be powered off the GPU / DX9/10.

But as mentioned, EA has the licence now and GC probably wouldnt release a new game anyways!

I wouldnt mind EA making some rFactor, race, gtl,.. based (easily moddable) F1 game for pc.. And any good looking F1 game with ok+ handling for xbox 360.

Got sick of those PSone, PS2 and PS3 formularcade games (normally already when testing those in shop) so any EA made game is positive thing.. As long as it wont handle like cars in latest NFS game.. :P

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

No, F1C was rubbish. Looked good but the AI and physics were pretty ordinary. If they can improve that and a few other things, then we'd be looking at a great sim.
