You'll have to merge all 28 objects into one tho, otherwise bits start going missing ;-)

Isn't neccesary.. I use 3DSMax myself, and i never had to merge them all together

Every shape I've imported I always lose the suspension, it could be that it's flipped inside out, but a lot the time it never turns up in the objects list
