New trulli helmet WIP

Hi there

Just seen the pics for the new trulli helmet and decided i would have a go at making it. Strictly WIP atm, the colours will need fine tuning, need to add intel logos, chanign relative sizes and positions etc

Final things to do are: Add "Trulli" writing to top of helmet, finish lines, possibly tweak the colours

is there a way to make it chrome like the HANS "buttons"?

they seem very realistic, maybe you can look at their properties and apply it to the helmet?

Well zmodller doesnt do chrome very well AFAIK. All the alpha channels are white (shineist i think), so in game they should be reflective. The hans buttons are literally photos which have been turned into textures, which is why they look so god damn gd.

to make the lines like on jarno's helmet you create a 'drop shadow' in photshop and then make the grey transparent

Cheers kizz360, just tried that and it looks very good.

Should get the helmet finished tomorrow

np, try adding a graident on the grey to get it looking chormey although you might find another method
also look at the top of jarno's helmet, theres more of a design than it being just red, and maybe make the red a litte tranparent too?

AWESOME HELMETS

Trulli used that samurai on the back of his helmet for 2005 Suzuka Race, where he had flowers on the helmet, and it was on the back.

I guess he liked it that much, he's decided to keep it permanently.

@montana_uk - Yeah the samurai dude is very familiar too me as i used it when i made Trulli's 05 Japan Helmet

Heres some more progress -







The only thing left is the red at the top. since the helmet is chrome all the photos are very hard to tell what the design is, ther is too much reflection. On the official Toyota site it looks like the 'brush strokes', lik eon their cars. But on other photos it just looks like a red circle, like his 05 helmet.

Any ideas??

Yes i believe it is, apologies for forgetting to mention you. I knew somebody on the forum was kind enough to help me with the samurai man (when i was doing the suzuka helmet), but i cudnt remember who it was.

If you look at some pics posted earlier you can see it's a chrome top with only some red around that character
