in my screens I used Clouds-10.tex . the sky in your screens is maybe Clouds-07.tex (from extra sky files)

I was unable to open the .gp4 file of some of these tracks (eg. imola) 3dEditor said it was locked or something like that. And not sure but the monaco skies folder didnt have the dome .gp4 file included in it.

The work is really good, I've modified all the tracks

But I have an error. The sun (at the race local time) it's gonna to be placed almost in the centre of the sky (not to the right or to the front) because the races are at 1:00pm. So I propose to make skies galleries with the sun texture inserted at the midle.
I think we may use textures like this
[www.gis.ucar.edu]
[literary.erictmarin.com]
[static.flickr.com]
I propose to all who has digital camera, to take pictures to the sky at 1:00 or 2:00 pm, and share pics to compare diferent skies from diferent cities. To simulate the real effect when we see to the sky.

Thanks for mentioning that Karan. I made a mistake. The dome is included but it has the name "monaco2001.gp4". But it's only 6kb like the rest of the domes instead of 8000kb that the main track gp4's are.

So if you rename the dome to it's proper name it should work. Oops! :) If there is a version 2 I will be sure to fix this.

About tracks being locked I never had that problem maybe I used updates from a different modder who hadn't locked them, but I believe Benjo had a solution.

@ marianodc

Is there any tracks in particular where the sun is in the wrong place? Nurburgring maybe? I can't think of many more where you can see the sun. I tried to think of this when making the skies. If the sun is in the middle of the sky it won't be visible, as it's impossible to "look up" when ingame. So it is kind of pointless to draw one as you won't be able to see it..

Some of the screenshots have a morning sunrise sky but they are a seperate add on.

@HoldenRT: sorry, I forgot to tell you about the wrong name for monaco dome object :( I fixed it when I uploaded the packages on gpgames.

@ HoldenRT

I really don't want to see the sun, but in some textures the sun is behind the clouds in the horizon, and it doesn't to be that way

Ok I understand now... until another version is released..

What you could do is have a look in the "extra skies" folder.. There are some cloudy skies similar to the ones that have the sun behind the clouds, except it doesn't have the sun in it and you could use those clouds instead.

You could use clouds-06 or clouds-08 for example.. you just need to rename them to clouds-07 and update the wad for that track.

@Lo2k - No worries mate.. no other mistakes I should know about then. :)

Hey Karan19 is the filename for the spa track called "spa05_mb_rl_em_v1_0.zip" ?

Because that's the spa I'm using. I think it's the same one, but Im able to open it and add the dome. Wierd. :(

Im using 3dEditor 17.6 if that helps. Maybe as a last resort with the author's permission we could upload the complete track .gp4 files for imola and spa with the dome included, for those who can't open it.

hey benjo that seemed to work for monza but for imola and spa i'm not even able to open the .gp4 file in 3deditor. basically as soon as i hit update it scans several files but seems to get stuck at (for imola) "creating scene 5 part 2348..." permanently. I'm not sure why it does this? its similiar for spa except there it gets stuck at " creating scene 5 part 2090..."

hey Karan19. Strange that you managed Monza to work, but Imola and Spa not.
Did you use GP4 Master and 3D Editor 14.6, because I did and it worked just fine for me, all three tracks have a beautiful sky now. It didn't get stuck at all creating scenes.

The thing is that Ricarardo Lampert has locked his track.gp4 files in his latest tracks (imola, monza and spa) because he is fed up with leechers using his work without permission, he said to me that his track.gp4 are locked now and will always stay locked .
