lags in multiplayer

the game is stuttering in lan-multiplayer. bout 1/2 second lags. we are 2 players. what can cause this stuttering? any experiences?
of course, its 100 mbit lan.

set configurations of the game to the same, like sound, grafics and everything....

and then lower the frame rate

and use the best machine as the main one
