Helmet .TEX Stream?

In the last week all my Editors/Utilities will not open helmet .TEX files. And the error comes up saying 'stream read error'.
What is this? And how do I fix this, as I would really like to play around with some helmets.

Thanks

you can load the tex files in texresizer 2.3 and save all the 4 tgas . Then you can insert both tgas you want into another working tex. I've done it in this way and it works :-)

Most likely there's something wrong with your system. As far as I know, all released tex tools share the same code for loading tex files.
I think it was written by Steve Mitlehimer (or something like that)
Anyway... that could explain why you are getting the exact same error with all tools.
Try to open a tex files with this:
[files.vadertrophy.com]
Execute the exe file and drag any tex file onto the opened window.
If it shows up, then I have no idea what's wrong because i don't have the code that all other tex tools use.
If it doesn't, then it's probably because a DX error. Then try to reinstall DirectX.

i've tried it with the exe ZaZ and it shows up the tex file, but don't worry, i'll make it as i wrote here and as long as it works, there's no problem for me:-)

Thanks for the help so far, the TexResizer works well, yet all the other tools still have the Stream Read Error, not so urgent to fix now, but still very curious to see why this is happening.

Yep, Carset Creator and Texresizer share the same code from Sven Mithlener :)
@Darcy/QUickslick: If you want, you can send me one of the faulty tex file, this way I could check what's wrong.

i haven't seen the tex file, but i think it might be because of a full transparancy flag in a dx1 file :P

you're right ZaZ, i've opened the tex file and changed the dx1 to dx5, then saved both tex files and now it works fine :-) thanks for your advice.

Thanks for the file, Quickslick.
The latest Texresizer version (2.3) I released some days ago seems to handle these files without troubles.
