i second that question. its impossible to download off gp4italia these days because of that damn quota limit. is it possible to get it hosted at dragon forums? if someone can send me the zip i can upload it there.

To get new tarmac you have to replace the tarmacmap.tex in the folder maps/resources of the track2001.wad by another one.

cheers... but there is a weeeee problem in that as I was tired of patching and unpatching with CSM.... so i patched it, copied the files to a safe location and then unpatched and copied the files back (so always patched).
Is there a text file i can just edit perchance? :}

Yep.
Open the gp4tweak_data.ini in your GP4 main directory.
Under [CARS_NUMBERS_PER_TRACK] you'll find following line:
[Track]= 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0
This line difines which cars (by number: first Schumacher, second Barrichello, ...) will start in the race of the appropriate track.
Change this line to
[Track]= 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0
and you'll have 20 cars in the race.

The tracknames are from 2001, so in this case I estimate "Nürburgring" will be the right one because it's the 9th track and Indy was the 9th race this year.
