@TakkU: There are a number of things you can do to get rid of the hdri from the background for your render
First is to put the hdri map into the environment slot in the material itself rather than the global environment through the rendering menu. This means you can set up another image as your background image, or keep it a neutral colour, but the reflection will still be created in the same way as it was when the map was in the global slot. It's actually very useful for a number of things, particularly background images, as I said, so you can have a detailed track image for example in the main environment slot, and a hdri in the environment slot of your material.
