Below are some renders of my first crack at using zmodeler / 3ds max with gp4 cars. I have created a ficticious Audi Sport Team Joest car based on the r26. I still need to do a higher resolution pass with more raytrace reflections on the car body, however, any comments or tips would be greatly appreciated.
I used 3ds max 8 with Mental ray to render. Thanks to zepp 101 for the tips on importing and getting started.

Another render with mental ray featuring the MP4 21

Last one for now, new raytrace reflections on the audi instead of reflect maps.

Any tutorial how to make this renders?

that audi and its renders are awesome, any chance to get that car?

ill need to make a few changes to the texture map but i might post the bmp file here if you know how to reconfigure it back into your wad file.

My heart stop beating two laps for the end. I back alive on last turn.

I will make some new renders. I need help... How to put textures in boxes? I want to make the floor more realistic putting an asphalt texture, but when I made the render, it shows the color of the 3D view (the color of the box, not the texture I've associated pressing 'm'...)Please, anyone can help me?

Open the material editor, then choose a free slot and press "Get Material". Choose Bitmap and open the appropriate file. Afterwards don't forget to press the button to assign the texture to the selected object. This should work.

Really amazing renders all around! Moreover there seem to be some stunning wheels/rims for rendering out there. I guess I need some new ones too...anyone willing to send them?
