ahhhh :)

how do you do that? i'm guessing it's something in 3dsmax, because i tried removing the alpha layer using photoshop and it laughed at me and did that same sort of thing!

Really? Strange I've been able to remove them in photoshop, save as .tga and then import the car into ZM with wheels and whatever ready for rendering. Are you deleting the alpha through the channel bar?

yeah, i went to the channel tab in the little window at the bottom right, then deleted the alpha layer (i think a shortcut was shift + 4, or ctrl+4 to delete it too)...

you can also make BMP of the TGA's that's what I always do.

a BMP did the same thing as TGA... :s

it's slightly different to when i didn't remove the alpha layer, but still crazy!

looks like some texture flippage is needed...

which way? i've flipped it vertically, should i not have done?

perhaps you shouldn't, just try it. It's also possible that you've assigned the wrong textures in the wrong slot.

ah, i flipped it back the right way, it's almost there..... except what's happened here? do i remove the 2nd car from the tga file?

(no prizes for guessing what my name is ;))

Looks like those parts are disappearing because of the alpha channel. you should delete the alpha channel in PS/PSP or make .bmp's of the textures and assign those to these shape.
