Setups - Dry and Wet

Hi guys,

I would say I am quite a good performer on ace level. But one thing where I have got still problems are wet races. My lap times are clearly behind the top competitors and the grip of my car under rainy conditions isn't really satisfying. So my question is what are the main differences between dry and wet setups?
I usually change the wings (and the gear ratios) and the suspension for more grip. Anything else I have to pay attention to? Maybe Differential?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers
Jwt

Same problem with me. What you do with suspensions to have more grip?

play with the Diff, i sometaimes lower it for more grip.

Just got to be VERy quick and smooth on your steering.

And read the Rain Racing FAQ Thing in the FAQ Thread.

Yes i have the same sort of problem, it is very hard to keep up with the other leading cars?
i always add downforce, lower the ride height and change the gear ratio, i dont know about the other stuff

try more understeering setup, put more wing on back.

raise ride height Kimirgj

And magicsenna- Doesnt adding rear wing create more oversteer?

@ Webber Fan: Sorry, I didn't mean suspensions, I meant the springs, softer or harder for more grip.

@ Smorr: Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try.

Cheers

no smorr, raising rear wing causes understeer, but in wet conditions its prefered, cause of too much wheelspin.

and try soft springs, and wet tyres :)

the softer the suspension the more grip, the harder the suspension less grip. So if the track conditions are gripy then you will run stiffer suspension if its slippy you will run softer suspension

weird i love the wet and always do well in it against the AI because the AI brake remarkably early in the wet...meanwhile in the dry i am dodgy often losing the backend when i push to hard.

If the track is soaked, i can match the AI fine.

Its changing conditions, when the track is just starting to get wet. The AI remain out there on drys, yet im all over the road like a drunk. They are up to 5 seconds a lap quicker!

I would love to race more in the wet, but ive given up. If the race starts dry then gets wet later on, its a waste of time.
