Installed the original 2005 carset. Updated with the Sepang update. Downloaded newest version of Zaz's carset manager. After loading, I have all updated menu screens, driver artwork. Select race, track loading screen appears. Looks like track is loading, just before finishing loading track it drops out of game back to desktop. Run othr seasons and mods with no problem. Any ideas why it crashes back to desktop during track loading? I have tried loading over a clean install of origianl 2005 mod, install with Sepang update without going over original 2005 mod, same problem.

seems 'engine.tex' is missing. you can find it in vipers 2004 ferrari.
put it and hi_engine into 'Data\Cars\Common'and 'Data\Cars\Common\Hi'

@Richard. click on Help->About in CSM - is it 'Build 28'?

did a quick test, and it's looking great :)
only thing is the cc's are too slow, or i am too fast :P
it's fun to fight with the car, but once you get the hang of it, you are way faster.
i did a 10 lap race to test at imola, and i was around 4 seconds quicker each lap on ace level.
they were driving laps of 1.23 and slower, and i was doing 1.19 :/ pretty big difference. and with some practise, my times will improve, so the gap will be bigger.

adjust the shortcut of tweaker. it's in the readme of tweaker.
something like
"c:\blablahblah\tweaker\tweaker.exe" /P="c:\blahblah\gp4.exe"

yes but tonys set doesnt have its own gp4.exe file does it? i checked the 2005 folder and cant find one. if it ddid i could just copy it to the main gp4 folder, change the settings and then copy it back over to the 2005 folder.

Try Monaco, it's the easiest of the lot! The others are like parked cars in comparison.

@rapid you need to take the melbourne.bin file you can find it there:

\Program Files\Infogrames\Grand Prix 4\GPSAVES\Carsets\2005\Data\Tweaker\bin

you put the melbourne.bin into your main gp4 folder change it in gp4tweak and now open gp4tweaker program and make your changes. When you are done press apply and rename the bin again towards melbourne and put it back were you taken it and run the game!

about the tracks you are right tony will fix this for sure in next update :-)

Been playing all night. Shame we can't eliminate tyre changes for player and CC cars. Fantastic work! Something to really look forward to all year.

Track order
CC cars too slow :P
Ferrari 'engine.tex' missing
Ferrari lod problem
*****************************

it seems barc and nurb .DATs are similar sized and i was lazy.
swap the names of '2005-Nurburgring.DAT' and '2005-Barcelona.DAT' in 'Data\Tracks\Circuits' or wait for the update.

and you say it's a bug that the cc's are too fast :/
so that means you are going to make them even slower?

Is there a way I can put in the pitboxes manually without having to use CSM? I have the hi-res text images from the MOD but I prefer to use my own selection of cars etc.
Is there a way I can do this?

b-tone, got the 2005 Sepang update to work by doing a new install of GP4. BUT, have many graphic issues. In cockpit view, only half of the front wheels are visible when vehicle in motion. Find I have four cars with the 2004 Jaguar skins. Skins for the Ferrari, Mclaren, Sauber, and Virgin Honda are fine. All others are messed up. The skins for the Williams are upside down. Any ideas?
I have a 2005 carset I made from individual shapes and skins that is more accurate, and I would like to use the steering wheels this update has instead of the default wheel.

@vosh - why not use the set as a base for your own one?
you can uncheck quickstart and run the full season (hi). then copy the 17 track wads to a temp folder. they are tracks with 2005 pitboxes.

@Richard J. do you have 1.02 patch?
you're not doing something right as theres zero chance you can get a jaguar.

i fyou want to get a bit drastic do this:
install gp4
install oficial 9.6 patch
install gpxpatch 3.91
install csm 1.25 build 28
from this link: DRAGON RACING:
install "2005 set by Tony"
install "2005 Se Pang update"

that should work

@Zaz - re read my buglist ;-)
