GP4 & Sims screenshots thread in 2005

Sending an email isn't hard, and would have showed some tact. However, I have asked mad otter and Ross to talk with each other and sort it out. Since there was no email, what better can be done now?

As for carshapes being modded without permission, and/or converted to another game, AND are sent into distribution... there isn't much we as mods can do about it... Except perhaps grant the offender the status of "persona non grata". Leechers are never welcome.

So to sum it up, screenshots are a matter of tact and tone. Leeching and stealing is sending into distribution, and is definately something we won't accept.

I feel that a screenshot is not leaching, its just a print screen. There have been many people here who post shots with modified textures, is that leeching?

I have made these cars for F1C, as like others, in some way i prefer it. I think the makers of the cars, in some ways, be proud that i have chosen their cars for another game. I have NOT released any and will NOT release any. I find the GP4 carshapers/texturers amazing and have maximum respect for them, so much that i want their work in more than one game.

Im sorry that Ross is upset by my picture and if it causes this many problems i will take all the pictures off show. I just know there are a lot of people who dont know much about F1C and dont bother as most people put it down, so i thought id show that with the right cars (personal use only ) that game is good. But as i said, if one damn picture can be classed as leeching (god knows why) ill remove them all.

But im willing to bet, the next time someone comes on with a modified car in a screenshot (like the F2004m before it was given permission) people will be saying 'wow' rather than 'get my work out of your personal use screenshot'

If youve got a problem with people taking a screenshot of work you have done get over yourself. Its not like the files were distributed to anyone else or they were shown before the release date. Get over yourself mate.

its more that Ross said the other day that he didnt want to see any more shots of his minardi converted to F1C on the forums, just remove the minardi pic as we asked and things wouldn't have gotten like this. Dont want to make Ross leave again now do we?!

i think kev has finished that on a good note, so lets leave it now and get back to some screenshots :p
