Red Bull Car Help

Ok ive got all the 2004 cars downloaded in the original gp4 order so my jaguar is on top of the original jaguar etc. Now ive downloaded the red bull but im unsure what to do. The download contains some of the following files


car_arrows_car1_lod_0.gp4 etc
cp_arrows_tex
hi_car_interior.tex
hi_rb01_1/2/3.tex etc
rb01_1/2/3.tex etc

Basically what files do i need? or to rename?

you rename the ones with arrows in them, ie the lod's and tex's, but leave the rest, then copy them into you cars folder replacing what ever car you want, and then make a new cars.wad.

to replace the jaguar rename only these:
car_arrows_car1_lod_0.gp4 etc
cp_arrows.tex

to this:
car_jauguar_car1_lod_0.gp4 etc
cp_jaguar.tex

Ok ive renamed the suggested files and put the others in as they are and i end up with a white jaguar. Am i missing something?

don't rename the tex files from their original names!!!!!! or the card LOD files can't find the textures.

you may need to add 'hi_' at the beginning of the tex files though.

ok now im confused!

Ive still got the original arrows in its original slot, would it be easier to put this car into that slot and if so what do i need to do?

Okay heres how you do it :

Rename These ones ONLY
car_arrows_car1_lod_0.gp4 etc
cp_arrows_tex

To
car_jaguar_car1_lod_0.gp4 etc
cp_jarguar_tex

Leave these files ALONE
hi_car_interior.tex
hi_rb01_1/2/3.tex etc
rb01_1/2/3.tex etc

If you change the file names of the ones in the alone section you will end up with a white car because GP4 cant find the texture for the shape as it does not exist because the name is wrong.

Yeah i understand. I still need to put the "alone" files into the cars wad dont i?

So basically rename the lod files and cp to 'jaguar' and ovewrite the corresponding jaguar files in the cars wad as well as adding the other files. Do i need to take out any files (eg the hi-jaguar.tex files?) because obviously the hi-rb01.tex files will not ovewrite those.

you dont need to take any files out and yes you still need to put in the "alone" files. Try putting in two copys of your "alone" files like bellow :

car_interior.tex
rb01_1/2/3.tex etc
rb01_1/2/3.tex etc

hi_car_interior.tex
hi_rb01_1/2/3.tex etc

So you have a hi version and a standard version. If that doesn't work I dont have a clue :S

Ok i tried with both versions b4 and that was bringing up the white car. I'll try with just the hi files.

Ok thanks for the help but ive even tried just copying the files across as they are and replacing the arrows and i just get a white arrows so ive no idea!

Ok ive downloaded the (2005 logo) williams and changed the file names as i should and it worked fine for that car but doing exactly the same for the red bull doesn't work. Maybe because its a jag? I hear that can cause problems?

OH Red Bull CAR Where do we download this from.Can you supply a link.??any screenys around.
