it use indy mainly because its flatness. but every segment in the dat is new.
unfortunately it still crash the game, dunno why but probably pitlane related.
the secret weapon? gp3 track editor :)
i've erased all segments then started from the scratch using the datas from a gp3 track. so an amount of segment angled at 0,then an mount of segment angled xx or -xx and so on,all of them addedd with add multiply. using the same decimals as in gp3 track the layout is the same.i'm not sure if permission of gp3 track maker is necessary, probably yes,the layout is based on his data. many track commands needs to be added to make it gp4 compliant but the layout design at least can be copied.

hmm, the 3deditor generated pitlane.bin crashes the shangai track. the track bin instead is fine. do you want some files to study Lo2k?
the pitverge.bin file isn't generated by 3deditor? or something is wrong in this track?

is this thread still functioning?

anway, how shutt1e has done it is another good reason for exporting values. if we can export a GP3 track (co-ords, banking, etc) then import to a GP4, add the necessay GP4 stuff we'd have a sort of GP3->GP4 converter

heres the error after posting:

Yep, Track_pitverge.bin is not generated by 3DEditor yet.
You can send me your .dat file if yuo want, Shutt1e and I will see if I can find anything wrong/strange in it that could cause the crashes.

This threads starting to mess up a bit... probably reaching a limit. May be a good idea to create a new track editing thread, unless something can be done to fix it.

There seems to be a technical problem with this thread. I don't have it myself, but I do remember other threads becoming weird after they reach a certain size. So I am gonna play it safe and lock this baby down and make a new sticky.
