I'm getting a laptop with a 64MB nVidia® GeForce FX Go5200 Graphics Card

Does anybody have screenshots of GP4 with the above graphics card?

If so could you please post some.

Thanks

It'd be pretty generic, I mean its all about the CPU as well.

You'd probably get 800x600 resolution, medium details. If its a good cpu (not celeron) you could get 17-25fps. Should be ok.

Don't want to scare you off, but this card in a normal pc means that gp4 plays crap :(

I agree. I had an FX5600 which is much better than the 5200 and that was average at best.

Laptops aren't the best tools for playing games on.

True, but the gfx in gp4 only determine level of detail, not FPS, so you'd get an ok framerate with ok details, nothing high, but not awful.

<I shudders> ;) I had a GeForce FX5200 card, before I bought my 6800 Ultra, 2 months ago. I could manage 16 fps, with medium(ish) details.

thanks for the vote of confidence in Celeron qwerty! (though I agree-they are pretty crap) I have an FX5200, and I can get 27fps on a good day. my processor lets the side down though-overheats constantly driving up the PO

any graphics card is better than my 16mb ATI Rage Pro Turbo.
Its very bad.
Even GP3 is slow.

I'll just be happy with better GP3 graphics.

Thanks for being honest.
I had a lot of false hope!!

the processor will be a Mobile Intel® P4 Processor 518 with HT (2.80 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)

that's not too bad... Lol about the ATI-I had a 8MB Rage II. gave a PO of 150% in software mode with no scenery textures...

I think, that you will have a decent gfx in gp4, especialy because of a good cpu.

Yeah, that's a very strong CPU so you'll get good FPS, which is good.

Harj, I meant it less harshly than it came across, also in respect of laptops, where with equal spec to desktop they're always slower, and the celeron isnt that bad. Plus when you do have some cash (I know, if you're a student like me, just laugh :)) you can stick a Pentium 4 straight in that motherboard.

Thats because MX440 is probably better on some games than FX5200.

yes, because fx5200 has to draw (spelling?) dx9.0 effects, whilst mx440 has to draw only dx7.0 effects.

eh? Wrong thread?!

Yeah the FX wont be drawing anything that MX440 isnt, GP4 is a dx7 game, like the MX card is a dx 7 card. The 5200 just isnt all that good, but in theory neither is the mx440, tho I loved it.

Basically, people may tell you a card is 'crap' but in actual fact very few are, the fx5200 does everything it was supposed to...
