Is this possible?

To edit the GP4.exe so that the bar helmet load from the Wad and not the cars folder in the GP4 folder
the reason being so i can use Button UK helmet just at silverstone

yeah, its something to with using the 9.6 patch and which exe you use (1.00 or 1.02).

i think mine is unpatched, and i use the 1.00, and have a separate silverstone2001.wad, in which i use Buttons 'special' helmet.

yes its possible.

load the exe in a hex editor and goto around 0023f860, and enter lots of 0's.

which file do you alter the after-race parade lap thing, so you can drive around for longer when the race has finished? this was mentioned in another thread a few months back but i haven't found anything through searching, because that was mentioned in a thread about something else too. thanks in advance.

B-Tone, would it be possible for you to upload your modified .exe file? Hex editing is a little scary for me! Would be bloody handy for using various season carsets.

um, my exe isn't terribly stable, but if you're using sets then get CSM going, and i can give you some patch files that do these things per set, and restore it when you quit

@b-tone - Could you edit a 9.6 exe for me? If you can I would just like the 9.6 GP4.exe decrypted and edited to allow GP4 to find all the helmets in the cars.wad and not use the cars folder as well.

I can then archive this and edit it further as I need to.
