nVidia Uses

I came across this the other day
Thought some of you may not know

In the nVidia control panel
you have selections for Perfomance Mix and Graphics in some of the sections
if you set them to performance you dont loose much graphical sharpness or nethign , you loose about 200 PO and the game runs beautifully

try to put AF to 8x and AA to game preference or somthing like that . I play the game so well and the textures are so sharp

8x and AA is great! however it increases your po by 200%

i have everything on performance to maximize my gp4 to 45fps

yeah , but turn off AA let it in game preference ( in ati CP it is game preference )

I'll give it a go-I'm using a low end Geforce card, and I'll see if it works for me with a less reliable machine.

(Takuma Sato's engine is nothing compared with this computer!!)

Doesn't work for me. I get the opposite result-about 200% gain

i have everything maxed out except 8xaa and heat haze(which is sh!te) lol,
but I keep it locked at 25 fps. Why? Well I don't see the need for any more, as after that it'll become pointless, and it won't be noticed anyways.

25fps... thats terrible

It's not my limit(I can go up to about 40+), it's just that I set it to that. Go any higher, and it's a waste of resources, imo, as the human eye can't really tell the difference after 27fps. Plus, it allows me to have perfect real-time action,under ANY circumstance, wet or dry, Monaco or wherever, and I can really max out the draw distances, and everything.

What spec machine are you using Berger_Fan?

I have had a lot of problems running GP4 recently. I have just upgraded my machine to the following spec:

P4 2.8ghz
1gb of DDR Ram
Gefore 6800GT

Now GP4 should fly with this spec but instead my PO is always between 100-200 in the middle of a race. Very annoying it actually ran better on my old p4 2.0ghz with a Geforce 4.

I have tried some of the suggestions here to improve the performance but so far no luck. Has anyone out there got a similar machine or any other ideas to help performance. Cheers

how do you get this option.. i have a nvidia card..

On mine you right click on the desktop go to properties, then settings, advanced and then click on the Geforce tab. You will need the right software installed though. Might be in the drivers I am not sure.

I have a P4 3.20GHz,
512MB RAM,
nVidia GeForce FX 5200.

What sort of PO do you get when playing the game? I have just managed to get mine to run under 100 most of the time with a frame rate set to 25fps. However, I have everything set on medium and all the special effects turned off.
Silly really as I say my PC should run it with everything on and still fly, in theory at least!

the card is the only(minor) bottleneck atm.
I get a consistent never-higher than 100 PO, during a fully wet race at monaco, i get about 105 at the start. but that's the only instance.

Err, how?

setting aa and af to "program dependant" brings 2 frames more. I`m using 8x aa and 4x af and the game looks very fine fps 50 up or more - dont remember.

it's really intersting that your system can't run the game with high details. it's a system of dream for me, it should run it perfect.
