For F1.. I'd say GP4, I can make F1C look nicer, handle nicer but I've had only a handful of nice races in F1C. GP4 is a pleasure every time.

For other forms of racing, I'm with LFS all the time. Difficult to explain but I'm sure those who've played it (and I don't mean.. try the demo, crash in turn 1 and blaim the controls..then quit) will agree that there is a something about LFS that keeps you interested. The professional online teams are really puts you into that racing atmosphere.

Note that I'm only talking modern games here.

Best Sims - GPL and NR2003

GP4 annoys me. F1C annoys me more (and feels totally stupid to drive IMO).

NR2003 and GPL are everything F1C and GP4 want to be and more. Wind direction and speed, air temeprature, tyre wear on 3 different points on each tyre. Tyre temeprates from 3 different points on each tyre. Advanced aerodynamic models, AI which is realistic (GPls is a bit old now, and GP4s is pretty good it has to be said).

Neither GP4, F1C and the mods for it come close to the standard GPL and NR2003 games. And when you put in the mods for these two games they are light years ahead of all the other games that want to be sims

no, it was definitely F1 '99 thats i hated.

NR might stand for Nascar Racing?

Power Drive on the mega drive was also a great game. it was a rally game where you staretd off in minis, then as you earnt money you could upgrade your car, then buy another one, and enter more rallys. it had a great diagonal top down view as well.

NASCAR Racing. Its the latest papy game, the last one since they went under. It isnt just oval racing, theres 2 road course mods for it (and god knows how many road course's too), and without a doubt has the most advanced physics engine out of all the racing games today.

there you're talking Gui ! I've spent about 90 mins in that yesterday and my fastest lap time around the Advanced track with manual gearbox, of course, is a 44'1 total race time : 4'37.5xx I think

Sega Rally was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet too, loved that game. Way too short though

Colin McRae 4 on PS2. Only the 2WD bits though-4WD cars understeer or oversteer all the time!

Guys,,,,,,,,,,,,I've gotta go with GPL-I downloaded the GPL2004 Demo recently and it is quite an incredible game.I actually had this game when it came out but could not get it to work on my pc.My first runs at Monaco,Nurburgring and Spa were quite amazing......oh yeah-and the addon tracks work fine with the demo.
