great template bojan, i also like the shape

i decided to recreate great racing porsche, the first team i ever made. the are sponsored by planetside, so i made them a 4 car team, so i could have the liveries of the teams in planetside, plus one for myself (the light blue one).

@RaceMonkey - I know, it's brilliant isn't it. Although the MP4-18 shape that Bojan used last year was good in that it was an accurate portrayal of the car, I didn't like the shape because of the nose, and it was too obviously a McLaren, whereas this Ferrari template looks generic, probably because there are at least 4 Ferraris on the grid. BUT that is something that has already been discussed, and I don't want to take this topic too far away from its original subjects, which is some bl**dy brilliant cars from Bojan and a fantastic template as used by Bojan and Wai to make excellent cars.

yeah, i kept on shying away from the mp4/18 and 19 cos of the nose, if a wide nose mp4/19b comes out i might use that, most of the cars I make have been on this or the 2003 sauber, nice and generic. i wouldnt mind seeing a BAR either.

I agree with the MP4-19B wide nose, that would make a cracking template and since I am a McLaren fan, if one of those came out, I would abandon the Ferrari one instantly, no disrespect to Wai and Bojan, but I love the McLaren car as it is now.

Oooh. Danm, that looks good. Is is a real team from another racing series or is it a fictional team?

Personally, I use Paint Shop Pro v7, just haven't made a car yet. I'm still in awe at the template! Plus I haven't made any cars yet, so I'd be crap (to begin with!!)

From what I know, I think there is roughly a 50:50 split in terms of those who use Photoshop and those who use PSP.

Wow, there's some amazing artwork here...

I was wondering if anybody knows of a recent Lotus-JPS fantasy car?

I have seen some older ones around and although the liveries are usually really nice, the carshapes feel a little too outdated.

I prefer PSP, i dont know why, theres little to choose between the programs.

@marclister
the first cars are always crap, my first attempts were shocking, but id like to think im getting pretty handy at this carpainting lark now

another of the honda, dont ask about the rising sun, i just thought it looked nice

im lacking inspirado for the sidepods, im not sure what to do with them, i want them mainly white, but with red......something!

Well, we all have to start somewhere. I'm still working out where everything goes. How about red chevrons or horizontal red lines tapering into one line as the sidepods disappear to the rear of the car?

That's really not bad monkey! I like the cartoonish Rising Sun, the arrows on the sidepod are something I'd reconsider for your final design though.

I think the arrows look good. They show a driver which way he should be going!

well takuma is going to be driving it, but with him the arrows will be facing the wrong way more often than not.
