GPI Files: How can you convert them?

Like it says in the title.
How can I convert them into TGA or BMP for editing?

import them with Carsetcreator and save them as tga.

I've tried carsetcreator, but I can only edit the images of the driver, team logo and the side view of the car for the grid, but not that helmet and when I try and edit the menu or other images get NO TAB on the screen.

it's because writeprotection is enabled. Klick with the right Mousebutton on the GP4 Folder and disable the writeprotection from the complete Folder and try it again.

about all those gpi files (+-400 of them in the images dir.)
Carset creator only decodes 44 gpi files which are related to the teamarts
But what are those other used for?
Isn't there a program to decode them?
Easygpi or something?

Since carset creator can do that already, i think it must be easy to write a standaline gpi converter

Is there any editor what can export/import GPI files to version 1.02 of gp4?

I built a tool that can display all .gpi long ago but it can't convert them from or to any file.

i wrote a tool once to that can convert gpi files, but it has a downside.
i never meant to release it, and i didn't use standard classes. so it only can handle certain files. to load a tga it has to be 32bit uncompressed.
it doesn't have any error handling, so if you don't stick with the rules it will crash
i never did all this because it was enough for the person i wrote it for.

And can we scream to have the little portion of the source code to write .tga and to write .gpi ?
I have to admit i could find those features but i just hadn't the time for it because I always need to work on Team or 3D Editors...It's a matter of priority. But if i could find the tip, i would finish it and release it.
