the poly count vary by car, the biggest is around 6000 (the saleen) other cars are in range from 3000/4000. most of the remaining work is for optimizing the shapes but i think a powerful pc is needed anyway
on mine (athlon xp 2222mhz 202 mhz bus 512mb cas2 and geforce 3) it runs at 25/30fps
but is slow at the start using external cameras when all cars are showned.
this is my first attempt to build templates too, is there any guideline on that?

If you do not charge for the mod you can produce real liveries. We have checked this fact with Bruno (the site admin) before, as he is a lawyer.

If nothing is charged, no license is required. Which is why so many real mods can be produced free of charge

this is not exact ellis....simbin have buyed not only the fia gt names, but also the driver names and their cars....we've tried your solution (using real liveries but a different championship logo) but simbin have reclamed anyway...this happend also with rsr (a mod team for f1ch)...so no way to publish a carset with real textures...maybe as a single car, not in official way ;)
anyway if Gourdo can say other thing...we are here :)
