Clearly to some people, high system specs = proof of self worth :s

I've got a P4 1.5, 640 meg ram, Radeon 9600XT.

What's the best performance I should get (any config file would be great) because it hasn't improved since I swapped my TNT2 for the Radeon :-(

It is a known problem , since you changed to ati after having a nvidia card you will get driver conflict .... try to format your pc. possibly every programs you have will work much better :)

I've got Athlon 64 3200, 512 DDR RAM, Radeon 9800 pro.

Weird thing is it still cant run GP$ on full everything. And at some points (e.g. turn 5 at Indy) it always slows down.

Weird

I removed the nvidia drivers before installing my new card. Everything else works fine.

P4 Northwood 800Mhz - 3.0ghz
P4E800 Deluxe
1024M PC3200 Kingston HyperX
Lian Li Aluminium case
80GB WD - JB Series with 8MB Cache
Liteon 52x
Lite-on 52x24x52
Geforce 4 Ti4800SE VIVO
Sound Blaster Audigy Entertainment
Inspire 4400
Philips 109B (19 inches of goodness)
Windows XP home

i can run gp4 at full details except dynamic lighting, with my cars.wad having every lod file at lod_0 (so i dont get the crappy carshape switching) plus some textures without downsampling, at 40fps and i have a PO around 70 - 110.

I think if i get a better GFX card (say a radeon 9800XT) i could get 60fps with it setup the same. but i dont know this for sure :)

About the nvidia thing, I think there's a program that totally removes any traces of Detonator drivers, otherwise you get left with the dregs of that, as well as the catalyst ones :s
