1979 MOD

On behalf of shutt1e, GP4 Italia, myself and others i'd like to present the beginnings of the new 1979 set for gp4.
the car shapes are made by shutt1e - all around 15,000 polys, so very hi detailed.
i'm, doing the painting, and other bits and pieces (teamarts).
helmets will be by luca although the gilles and jody in these shots are done by sennalex.

I struggle running two teams with 2048x2048 textures (and that's only four texes!)... admittedly I need a new gfx card, but nvm
great stuff tho, but I can't help but feel that the models don't look like they contain 15k polies, but then again they probably have a lot of "hidden" detail, much like my '91 Ferrari 643...... which nobody's interested in :|
wings and wing endplates need some normals work on some of the cars, and the brakes need more detail (:P) but I guess you guys know that :D
can't wait to run the ferrari and renault tho... for obvious reasons!

the williams and lotus are around 10,000, so maybe i was wrong with 15,000 (takes an age to load up so can't be bothered checking :P)
i'll keep the 2048 textures to myself for a while probably, and will release hi and lo tex versions i guess.
the cars will have lower lods, and as nick said alot of the polys are hidden so lower lods should bring the poly count down a lot.
but saying that i'm managing to run ok with 1.4mhz, geforce2 mx440.
Same as the new 88 MOD!
