Hello there :)
I've been compiling myself an F1 rejects style mod, with teams like Pacific, Eurobrun, Andrea Moda etc taken from different mods from various sims.
I've created a lod 0 for the Andrea Moda, and copied it through to lod 4. (Maybe this is the problem? ;) )
When I'm viewing the car in game it looks fine, but as the focus switches to another car the livery flashes between being normal and this..





Does anyone know how I can correct this problem?

do a screenshot of your lod files, it's obviously only picking up lod_0 for some reason.

Well all my lod files are the same, do you mean show them in GP4 builder? ;)

I think everything is renamed properly though..

cars.wad looks ok.

Have you made any changes to the GP4.exe, either with team editor, or something in CSM?

I don't think so, I don't use CSM and it's on a clean install I think :)
I've edited the texture name in lod 1 to see if it picks that up, but it still shows the scrambled texture :(

Is there a limit to the texture size a lod1 can have? Or can each car part only have one texture?
I can't for the life of me figure out why it isn't picking it up :(

Can you show us how cars are mapped on zmodeler by showing us a UV Mapper view.

It seems I know this bug if assign UV is not on mapping area in game when cars are not on focus we can have this bug. So for me it's not due to different lods.

Ah, I misread the problem, I thought the car was showing up as a Jag. If it's flashing textures between a plain colour and the normal textures, the solution is what Filou says

Well actually I don't think I've UV mapped anything ;)
What I did in zmodeler was import the shapes and break them into the 28 parts gp4 needs. Then I went to the materials editor (all the materials were already listed there) and loaded all the relevant textures. Then they just appeared on the car in all the relevant and correct places, as below.
I exported the model, renamed the textures in GP4 builder, added alpha layers, converted them to .tex and that was it, it works fine when the car is in focus in game :)
Do I need to map the car then? Even though all the textures are where they should be? :(

What I want to see it is how an object of the car is mapped through the UV Mapper view like we can see below...

Here's how my left_front_wing and right_front_wing are mapped, I'm not sure if this is what you meant, I'm extremely new to zmodeler :)
None of the faces seem to be in the square :)

This car is originally made for GP4. Soon it will be released as part for 1992 mod. Without this errors. (Y)

I'd still like to be able to convert cars without this error though, and ultimately build some of my own from scratch too :)

Thanks for the help guys, I'm having a go at the UV mapping :)
Hopefully it'll work when I've finished, it's taking forever getting all the faces in the right places on their textures! ;)
