Is this a v9.6 patched GP4? Is it an original anim and cars.wad? Is the CPU set to 1? Set the exe compatibility to SP2.

If it crashes with a custom wad, test with a clean wad. Right click GP4.exe, set the compatibility to XP-SP2.

Okay, this is weird! I've uninstalled, reinstalled, patched ,repatched and just using the normal gp4 with normal gpx files... and I'm still getting CTDs (especially during pressing esc.)

Here's something else, I'm getting no menu music or the game is in automatic widescreen (I didn't set it up for wide yet.) And the crashes will happen if I just set up some options for no apparent reason.

I can't figure out why this is happening.....
