Here are some results of a sudden idea.

I just used 3DEditor to deform a square (used for a crowd flag) and applied to it a new sun texture.
You can test it too but you won't see the sun glowing cause i needed some hex tweaking to make it work (glow + visibility at far distance).
But i'm working on a new .gp4 file handling in 3DEditor, closer to the way i handle .dat files and allowing much more editing than today.

As you can see, effect is quite good except with some cloudy weather were sun become dark...don't know why yet. On the second image, you can see a blue halo but i fixed it now.
