Problems; GP4 don't work

hi,
I have a huge problem:
2 days ago my PC crashed down, I install windows and .... Gp4 (original),
but the game don't WORK!!! It starts normally but with no sound and no picture (just black screen). After 5 secound the Error message appear (GP4.exe has generated error and will be closed by windows).
I install this game before more than 5 times with no problems..
Whats wrong??

Ok, you reinstall windows, right? You didn't said what windows version so I assuming it Win95.
Did you already installing DirectX8 or newer?

I have windows 2000 proffesional
and Direct X 8.1!
And my graphic cadr is OK.

Hmmm...
Did you run GP4 from the default autorun program?
Did you login as guest?
Did your Win2k configured to allow access to GP4 directory?

I can give you hundreds of questions 'cos you give me insufficient info to diagnose your problem. Specify your problem more details, e.g. what actually you did before reinstall your windows, did you upgrade some PC components, did you upgrade sofware, etc.

Install latest motherboard chipset drivers.

Mistral......delete your f1gstate.sav and F1graphics.cfg files after you have made backup copies.This will cause Gp4 to try and re-calibrate your sound and video cards.Install the official patch afterwards.

1.I run GP4 as 1000 times before
2.I didn't add or remove any hardware
3.I didn' install any other software

4.I don't know what means login as a guest
5.and i don't know how to win2k configure to acces to GP4

i had such problem when i tried to install win 2003 srv. in this version of windows by defualt hardware graphics acceleration is disabled. and when i started gp4 i've seen black screen and no sound.
so, first, run dxdiag from command prompt to check directx settings
also you may check you video card drivers... maybe it's standart microsoft drivers? so you have to install the latest version of drivers from video card manufacturer...

i think that problem is not in the game itself, it is in the computer configuration

Yes, mckey I agree with you - i think that the problem is not in a game

But why I have to install all this components if it runs before without it.
This happened to me, I think 3 times now and always there was no problem.

For more information:
I install GP3:
- it runs
- I hear the music
- i could drive
BUT I DON'T SEE ANYTHING!!!!!!!(black screen)

Still don't work.
