But there are more chance you will crash gp4 with a modified track than looking a nice modified effect...
because GP4 doesn't really like we change .dat files and even if 3DEditor seems to respect .dat format, new modified values are mostly unknown for GP4 and might be the cause for crashs.
You can't say i havn't warn you...(as i also put warnings on my site and in the gp4form...hope it will be quite enough).
So these new version bring .bin and .dat editing, offering a new way to edit them.
I finally didn't release more than the gp4form cause i'd be able to implement near all functions (appart 2 datas but which are greyed in the tool).
Anyhow, .dat editing as to be seen as a Test feature cause in most of the cases, you will surely have troubles in the game and i strongly suggest Win9x users not using it for .dat editing cause when XP can hang, Win9x might crash.
Well, this time i will ask you to report me all you will see wrong (i know i will have more than i wish, but i need it too
). All your recommendations, tests, studies or else will then be debate and checked to fullfill 3DEditor features.
Here is a list of what is perfectly working:
- Camera/Distance from track
- Camera/Height
- 0xB4 and 0xB5 cmds can be seen easily in game (cars are avoiding part of the track if their size is reduced).
That's few : /
Here is a list of what i tested and doesn't seem to work:
- Sector/Slope don't have expected effect (all cars are rotated !)
- Sector curve give fools trajectories
That's few too : /
Anyhow, have a good time testing and hope you won't encounter too much back to desktop crashs
A tiny shot as usual:
