WAD updater does not create same wad

Hi, I have a problem with wad updater.
After Extract wad button and selecting cars.wad (114 MB) I then select Create wad and get my new was 100 MB and GP4 crashes when using it .

Which version of WadUpdater do you have? It should be 4.2.

Doublecheck the folder path.

You must create the wad from cars folder wich contains these three folders: cars/fonts/maps and not from the cars folder inside the main cars folder tree.

isn't it so, that you maybe have to use the correct name for creating the wad as for extracting it? it means, if you extract the cars.wad,you have maybe write cars.wad instead simply wad in the creating window. Tried this already?

Dear isporcic.

Indeed, as quickslick wrote.

Together with the correct folders tree, it must be created with the same file name.

Pay attention to both.

Preferably, you may replace it, after a backup, by simply choosing and clicking on the original cars.wad inside Grand Prix 4 folder.

Hi, thanks I tried but the same, I get 100 MB wad instead of 114 MB, must be some problem with this wad file, you can try:
cars.was zipped

In your cars.wad file, there are lots of gaps, which is why the size differs between your first file and the file created with WadUpdater and Wad Controller.
Wad Updater et Wad Controller work perfectly.

i've cleaned the wad from all the unnecessary files and now the wad should work

Guys, thanks, new wad works in GP4!
Now I will just try to extract, replace wrong helmets and make new wad
Then I maybe find out how to move mirrors at right position, they are put to the sides in this wad so I must select minus key to zoom out cockpit view in order to see things in mirrors
